Garston Gang arrives in Blackpool.

On Thursday 3rd September a small number of Mark Masons, and family companions visited the BLESMA residential home in Blackpool to deliver a donation on behalf of the Mark degree.
An amount of £160 was raised at a Sunday lunch on Remembrance Sunday 2014, a further £ 90 was donated by West Lancashire Mark Masons charities, which was added to the original amount and a cheque of £250 was presented by Derek Horrocks (Special Representative for Garston to Jacqui Longden (Care Home Manager)
Provincial Grand Master, R. W.Bro Keith Beardmore spoke about the good work of BLESMA and the pleasure of seeing the donation being used for although basic, very important medical bedding.
Graham Sindon (Deputy Charity Rep: for Garston), Colin Svenson, Jack Parker, Ann Svenson and Barbara Taylor travelled to Blackpool to support Derek Horrocks.
Local support from the Fylde Coast Mark Masons came from John Forster (Special Rep: for Fylde), Bob Boal, Bill Ainsworth and Mike Casey.
The residents that attended the presentation, were Gwen Marsden MBE, Fed Tattersall and Stephen Bodham
Everyone chatted with residents from the home, gaining an insight to some of the work of BLESMA and the equally interesting background of a few of the residents.
To view the work of BLESMA, please search BLESMA Blackpool on the internet. It is a very interesting web site
